OREWA TRIP

In February, the senior school went for a wonderful trip to Orewa beach. With the support of the parents and teachers we all had a safe and wonderful day. The children were all very well behaved and all really represented W.H.S well. We splashed around in the sea, we found sea worms, we made sandcastles, we played cricket and baseball, we played touch and we kicked around the soccer ball for a while. What a great day it was.

Here are some pictures of the senior school having a great time at the beach.

ROOM 21 AT TUESDAY SPORT

This term, every Tuesday afternoon the senior school has been heading outside to enjoy some sport during the our sunny summer. We have been learning to play sports that are based around small balls. For example, T-ball, softball, cricket and a number of others. The skill of the senior school has been getting better as the weeks go by and we have been having a lot of fun too!

Here are some pictures of Room 21 in action.

ROOM 21's CLASS TREATY

In Room 21 we started the year by discussing as a class, what we wanted our class to be like. We talked about how we wanted our class to behave, and how we should treat each other. Once we had agreed on a set of rules that we felt best represented what we wanted Room 21 to be like, we made a class treaty to officially commit our set of rules on paper.

When signing the treaty, to make the process a bit more special, we took some feathers and made them into quills, much the same as were used when signing the Treaty of Waitangi.

Here are some photos of the treaty, Room 21 practising using quills and signing the treaty.
